O dia novamente contou com uma chuva fraca mas sem parar e terminou com mais dois recorde do Pan Pacífico.

O primeiro deles veio da prata de casa, Cameron McEvoy, que aos 20 anos venceu veteranos como o compatriota James Magnussen e os americanos Nathan Adrian e Michael Phelps. Cameron marcou 47.82 (22.84) superando o recorde anterior de Nathan obtido nas eliminatórias com 48.05. Aliás, os veteranos foram os únicos a não melhorar suas marcas das eliminatórias. Marcelo Chierighini, nadando a final B, conseguiu o melhor resultado entre os brasileiros com 48.68 (23.50), seguido de Nicolas Oliveira (23.38, 48.69) e João de Lucca (23.94, 48.97).

Na prova seguinte, os 400m medley feminino, a americana Elizabeth Beisel venceu tranquila com 4:31.99 (1:03.64, 1:09.23, 1:17.35, 1:01.77), novo recorde de campeonato superando sua própria marca obtida em 2010, que era 4:34.04.

Prova disputada, mas de menor índice técnico até agora, os 100m peito colocou de novo Jessica Hardy no topo do pódio com 1:06.74, 4 centésimos abaixo da japonesa Kanako Watanabe, e 25 centésimos abaixo da compatriota Breeja Larson, que apesar de ficar em 3o. na final, não conseguiu fazer tempo melhor que Micah Lawerence fez no Campeonato Americano mês passado e com 1:06.51 ela e Jessica Hardy representam o país no próximo Mundial.

No masculino, os 100m peito foi marcado por um erro infantil do franco favorito Kevin Cordes, que tinha marcado 59.70 nas eliminatórias mas acabou sendo desclassificado porque seus óculos saíram do lugar na entrada d’água durante a saída, e no momento da virada tirou o óculos descaracterizando o nado peito (braços no mesmo plano e simétricos). Abrilhantaria o duelo que terminou como protagonista o japonês Yasuhiro Koseki, com 59.62, e coadjuvante o brasileiro Felipe França com 59.82 (27.82).

As irmãs Campbell, Cate e Bronte, dominaram os 100m livre com vitória da mais velha, Cate, com 52.72 contra 53.45. Melissa Franklin repetiu Michael Phelps e ficou em 4o. lugar: parece não haver lugar para multimedalhistas nos 100m livre.

Com novo recorde Commonwealth, o japonês Kosuke Hagino manteve-se ao lado do americano Tyler Clary até os 200m, quando seu nado peito superior abriu vantagem de 1.6 segundo sobre o americano e foi determinante para sua vitória com 4:08.31 contra 4:09.03 de Clary, que sentiu um pouco do gostinho de ser alcançado nos últimos 100 metros pelo seu companheiro Chase Kalisz, que terminou em 3o. com 4:09.62.

No 4x200m livre, sem participação brasileira, as americanas tiveram uma vitória um pouco mais folgada que os americanos. No feminino elas bateram as anfitriãs com 7:46.40 contra 7:47.47 (Katie Ledecky, novamente, é a força propulsora da equipe, fechando com 1:54.36). Já no masculino, a equipe com média de idade de 27,5 anos tirou uma vitória no sufoco sobre a equipe japonesa que tem uma média de idade de 22 anos. Destaque para Reo Sakata, de 18 anos, que marcou 1:45.78 como segundo da equipe. O melhor parcial foi de Ryan Lochte com 1:45.57.
